Road to Recovery

Today is the first day home all day. Today is the day all the good pain meds wear off. Today the spinal cord stimulator is still off. But, today is also one day closer to the next surgery, which is one day closer to where I want to be.
My day started with a breakfast of champions... a handful of pills, coffee, and a blueberry bagel.

Then, I put on my super awesome leg massagers! They are supposed to help prevent clots, since I am supposed to be in bed a lot, but they are a heavenly squeeze! I always would tell the nurses at hospitals that I loved those things and wished I could bring them home, and here I am with my own rechargeable set! It is Plasma Flow by ManaMed and I wish I had these years ago!

Moving on with my oh-so-eventful day... I scored some naptime with the baby, my oldest made me an awesome salad for lunch, curled my hair with my robo-curler (CHI Spin N Curl), and I have watched a half dozen episodes of Grey's Anatomy.

Honestly, the damage doesn't even look so bad. There are a few pieces of gauze and some super stretchy clear tape. It hardly looks like I just had major surgery. The ass bruise is where I am hurting the most, but that should ease up in a few days.

And that sums up day one of recovery. Tomorrow, I hope to maybe do my nails and maybe a temporary tattoo. I have three more weeks of this and I am taking my rest and recovery seriously this time. I will be trying out every low key solo activity I can think of and will try to recommend some of my favorites.
