Vagus nerve is a part of the nervous system. It is also called the pneumogastric nerve. That is because it interfaces with the heart lungs and digestive track

Vagus nerve issues can lead to obesity, heart rate issues bradycardia (low) or tachycardia (high) gastric intestinal issues, swallowing difficulties, fainting or mood disorders, chronic inflammation, impared cough, seizures, tinnitus, ringing of the ears, alcohol addiction, alziheimers, diabetes, leaking gut, poor breathing, stress disorders and cancer

pneumo= lung gastric= gastric intestinal system or gut

Vagus nerve It is the 10th cranial nerve which is one of 12 that come off the brain. This one is one of the largest nerves in the system that is a part of the autonomic system. This is why it relates to us CRPS warriors.

Hormones and peptides help regulate the food we intake and appetite. Treatment to some gi disorders and psychological like inflammatory bowel or anxiety and PTSD Vagus nerve is essential for immune health, for controlling the immune system. It acts as a monitor watches over things

Treatment is a vagus nerve stimulator which is installed in the clavicle area of the neck like a TENS machine. However instead of on the skin they wrap the electrode along some central vagus nerve fibers this helps with mood, anxiety, decreased inflammation, neurological diseases, nutrition and even epilepsy, depression , some help for refractory migraine, cluster headaches, bipolar, anxiety and even obesity, gastroparesis, which is all apart of the malfunction of the autonomic nervous system, this is where our disorder will impact how the vagus nerve functions.. Due to the malfunctioning autonomic nervous system our disorder is affecting

This is where and why you need to treat the whole person and not just the affected limb...this is why CRPS warriors have many issues with.. Nutrition, digestion, gastroparesis, it is really all connected when you look at the big picture, to understand how these nervous systems work with our disorder .

Vagus nerve needs = the autonomic system to be working and functioning

What is malfunctioning in us the Autonomic system.

Limbic System= this system helps control the autonomic system

Autonomic System= controls the Vagus nerve

Vagus nerve= is a major part of the parasympathetic nervous system,Regulates your heart rate and blood pressure, blood glucose, liver and pancreas, releases bile from the gallbladder, and that plays into digestion. It stimulates your kidney function, increases blood flow in a limb, helps the natural filtration system, which goes back to your kidney, it decreases inflammation, it helps control orgazims and fertility in woman, helps he farence and larynx muscles, difficulty swallowing and speaking, regulates your smooth muscle movement in your and glandular secretion in you intestine,

Autonomic nervous system= 2 branches which are the sympetic and the parasympathetic nervous system

Parasympathetic nervous system= Rest and digest system so if the vagus nerve is off that affects how the parasympathetic system.

Now you have 2 systems that are supposed to help with digestion malfunctioning..

Weight issues and bowel issues familiar? It is responsible many of the body functions= for the fight or flight and the immune response, matablizim, heart rate, sweating, bowel movements,

Vagal tone = when things are running properly you have good vagal tone and a properly functioning system helps with the stress response

Stress Response= goes back to the limbic system and the parasympathetic systems

Afferent nerves= run from your neck to gut 80%- to 90% branch off the vagus nerve they are your sensory nerves it takes all the information and sends it to your brain

So if you have one system off you have a backup system.. However as CRPS warriors we have multiple systems that are malfunctioning and you have lost your back up stress response help

Seeing how this just cycles around it is hard to say what dysfunction happens first nobody has an answer on what came first.. It doesn't really matter they are all dysfunction at the same time and all controlling various systems in the body… hence why you need to treat the whole person instead of just the affected limb Heavy sweating is evidence of your whole body system not operating properly. When you start to look at the hormones, thrown off the neurotransmitters, newro chemicals, because of the malfunctioning limbic and autonomic systems, now throw in the vagus system malfunctioning. This is why we have so many symptoms and why things change so quickly throughout the hour or day or week why doctors throw in the towel.. CRPS is more than just a limb. My hand foot is red blah blah blah.. But you have issues with sweating heart bowels ect it is all connected. It is great that your getting meds and services for your swelling painful limb, what are you doing for your various nervous systems? Educate yourself there is no pill or procedure.. Or a magic wand it is all up to us….CHANGE YOUR MIND AND THOUGHTS

Where to start,

Vagal tone, you can do it by relaxing, exercise, breathing meditation and yoga this is how you can improve some of the things you can do.. This is your job nobody can do it for you

meds= every one of your pill will also complicate and assist these conditions so pay attention on what your body and mind are telling you

Nutrition= are you getting enough of all food groups,,, are you staying clear of the food triggers. Such as niteshade? Are you drinking enough water?

YOU ARE YOUR BEST ADVOCATE, educate yourself, fight for yourself.. Do a journal, talk in a groupe like this, read, relax monitor and reflect where you have come from with the journal
